The context

In recent years, Taranto has embarked on an urban regeneration process, investing huge resources in strategic works and redevelopment of each neighborhood.

The goal is to give the city a new face, to spread dignity and beauty both in urban centers and in the suburbs, raising the quality of life of citizens. For this purpose, important redevelopment plans have been planned and launched for the historic center and the suburbs. The cultural and touristic rebirth of the Old City passes through the revitalization and regeneration of the archaeological evidence and the symbolic places of Isola Madre. The interventions planned by the Municipality are part of a large recovery plan for the enormous historical heritage that belongs to the city and which will be adequately enhanced and shown to the world in all its extraordinary nature. The Isola Madre Plan is complementary to other interventions aimed at the rebirth of the Suburbs, with the Intervention Plan of the Tamburi District, the Parks of the Salinella District, the regeneration of the southern area of ​​the Paolo VI district.
